We are excited to announce that the new site updates are now UP and RUNNING!
When we decided to update our site, our goal was to let game developers and sound designers quickly search for music and SFX that would best suit their projects.
Most asset stores have different types of assets such as 2D Art, 3D Animations, Shaders and more. There are no advanced search filters such as ‘Mood’, ‘Instruments’ in the stores for audio assets, making it difficult to search for specific audio assets at times. Some asset stores do not have the ‘tag’ function where you can add relevant words to your asset.
For example, if a game developer wants to search for a track that is “Fun” and “Upbeat,” it may be difficult as not many publishers would name their track by the mood “Fun Upbeat Music.” They may name it something like “Happy Street” instead. On the Unity Asset Store itself, there are many music assets with the same generic name ‘Casual Game Music’. UAS does not give many details of the music asset, and it takes time to look through each music asset.
[ Asset stores such as Unity Asset Store, Unreal Engine Marketplace, Gamedev Market and Scirra.]
That’s the reason why we added the search filters ‘Game Genre’, ‘Music Genre’, ‘Moods’, ‘Instrument’, and ‘Sound Effects Type’!
We also have a ‘tag’ function where we give our music additional words that do not fall under the filters. Some examples of the word could be the beach, Paris, night or village. We feel that having all these filters and tags help speed up the search process and make it easier to find music and sound effects. We listed down details of each music’s length, instruments, mood, and BPM of the track.
One thing we always hope to do is to allow game developers the ability to listen and download to all our tracks and YES, even the all variations of the tracks! This way, the game developers know what they are getting, and they can also put the downloaded music in their game before making a purchase.
Currently, our packs are sold in packs in UAS due to some submission limitations, but we want to provide the option to purchase tracks individually! We could also offer flexible licenses and prices outside that of the asset stores. Having received emails and messages regarding licenses to use our audio assets outside of games, we extended our licenses beyond games! Yippeee! We hope you like the new updates to the website and do comment down below or email us at [email protected] if you have any feedback or questions!
P.S – We also updated our W.O.W Sound Logo!
